It’s time for another meeting! I’ll talk about metacpan.org, the popular new CPAN search site, as well as api.metacpan.org, the web service that powers it.
6:30 pm, 429 Forbes Ave, Suite 1800.
See you then!

It’s time for a belated July meeting! Mike Aquilina is going to give a presentation on his module for interface with book-lending systems, or as I like to call it, his library library.
If anyone wants to talk about interesting things they’ve seen at conferences, that’d be nice too.

Don’t forget about tomorrow’s meeting! And don’t forget, if you’re interested, to bring your laptop with Task::Plack installed. See you then.
I’m pleased to announce a technical meeting of the Pittsburgh Perl Mongers at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, April 20th, 2011.
The speaker is: me
The topic is: an introduction to Moose
I expect to speak for 20-30 minutes, not counting Q&A. I’ll be aiming particularly at programmers already familiar with OO in Perl, though it should be useful to anyone who understands basic OO concepts.
We’ll meet in Grant Street Group’s office at 429 Forbes Avenue. There’s on-street parking and several lots nearby (including one directly across the street); I can find out more details if anyone’s interested.
Afterwards we can go to one of the nearby restaurants and get some beer, fries, etc. I like Tavern 245 or Courthouse Tavern, but there are a lot of choices.
See you then!
It’s time to get together and drink beer again. However!
A few people have expressed dissatisfaction with Sharp Edge. I’m not overwhelmingly fond of the place myself; we’ve been meeting there because of inertia.
Comment on this post, or on the mailing list, with your suggestion for where we should meet. It should have:
Please only suggest a location if you’ll actually be able to make the meeting! In other words, put your mouth where your money is, or something.
If no one makes any suggestions, we’ll stay at Sharp Edge. If there’s no clear winner, I’ll pick a location arbitrarily.
Enjoy the holidays, and I’ll see you all in January.
The last meeting went so well (seven people! Penguins game! kitchen on fire! pretzels!), I think we’ll have another.
For anyone who’s coming for the first time, and using Google Maps or similar: please note that although the map claims to be taking you to South St. Clair St., the directions it gives you are actually to North St. Clair St. instead. If you are like me, this will result in your attempting to drive through an alley blocked by police cars as the officers question some residents, then almost hit a group of ten or so teenagers who have taken over the street. So don’t do that.
I am hereby declaring a social meeting of the Pittsburgh Perl Mongers for November 10th, 2010, at 7pm, at Sharp Edge.
We’ll meet, eat, drink and be merry; then keep meeting every 2nd Wednesday of each month to do the same.
Hello Pittsburgh Perl Mongers. We’re back. This site is maintained by a handful of undedicated, busy geeks.
